The craft of recycling

Taken in Gulu, Uganda

In the northern village of Gulu, Uganda, a beautiful collection of necklaces showcases the artistry of local women. Each bead, painstakingly rolled from paper, also demonstrates a creative product of recycling.
After paper is rolled with glue and glazed, strands of beads are left to dry in the hot sun. The local women then use the beads to create necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and purses. The result- a colorful array of jewelry, made from paper!
